  2.                           Introduction
  3.  
  4. The Font Print  program will  print font books of all installed
  5. fonts on your computer.  You can choose the fonts size, fonts to
  6. print, whether you want the full ANSI set and if you want each
  7. font sample on a separate page.
  8.  
  9.                       Font Print Evaluation
  10. You are granted a 15 day evaluation period to try Font Print.  If
  11. you use it after this evaluation period you must register it. 
  12. Please see the on-line help system for details about the license
  13. agreement and  the registration process.
  14.                       Initial Installation
  15.  
  16. This program is provided in one of two forms.  It is either part
  17. of the TARDIS Applications diskette or can be downloaded
  18. individually from CompuServe or other BBS systems.
  19.  
  20. Diskette
  21. If the program is provided on diskette and you have used the
  22. diskette's install program, the software has already been
  23. installed and program manager icons created.  You can begin using
  24. it immediately.  Please see the section "Running for the first
  25. time."

  27. Download
  28. If you downloaded this file you should follow the instructions
  29. below.   The program is provided as a self-extracting executable
  30. file.  Just follow the instructions below to install the program
  31. on your hard drive.  You MUST already have a copy of the Visual
  32. Basic 3.0 runtime DLL VBRUN300.DLL.  It must be installed in your
  33. Windows \SYSTEM directory.  If you do not have this file you can
  34. download it from the Microsoft Visual Basic forum on CompuServe. 
  35. This file is not included with Font Print.
  36.  
  37.    1.Choose a drive and directory on which you want to install
  38.      Font Print.  If the directory does not exist you must create
  39.      it now.
  40.    2.Copy the Font Print self extracting executable (FPRNT.EXE)
  41.      into the directory.
  42.    3.Make a backup of this file for safe keeping.  You will
  43.      delete this file later.
  44.    4.Change to the Font Print directory.
  45.    5.Type the command FPRNT.  This uncompresses the files into
  46.      the current directory.
  47.    6.Delete the file FPRNT.EXE.  It is no longer used.  Make sure
  48.      you make a backup per step 3 above.
  49.    7.Check the directory for any files with a .DLL or .VBX
  50.      extension.  If any files matching this description exist
  51.      they should be copied to your Windows \SYSTEM directory and
  52.      then deleted from the Font Print directory.
  53.    8.Create a Program Manager icon for Font Print and link it to
  54.      the EXE file FONTPRNT.EXE.
  55.    9.Please see the section "Running for the first time."
  56.                    Running for the First Time
  57.    1.Start the program by double clicking the new Font Print icon
  58.      in Program Manager.
  59.    2.Since this is the first time you are running this program
  60.      you are prompted for your Company Name, Your Name, Phone
  61.      Number, and optionally your CIS ID (not password).  This
  62.      information is saved for future reference.  The serial
  63.      number is assigned and the registration reminder screen
  64.      displays.  (This screen will never display after you
  65.      register the program).
  66.    3.To access the on-line help system (which contains important
  67.      information about the operation and license agreement  for
  68.      Font Print), click on the "About TARDIS" icon, and then
  69.      click on the question mark icon.
  70.    4.A file with the .REG extension is created in the same
  71.      directory as Font Print.  This file contains your name and
  72.      phone number and is used during the registration process. 
  73.      It contains important information and should not be deleted.
  74.    5.Installation is complete.
